War, Peace & the Gospel

In light of a broken, divided, and violent world, Jesus instructed his followers to be peacemakers. Yet, how to live that out faithfully is a question that has challenged Christians for generations. Christians of genuine faith have searched the scriptures and yet have arrived at different conclusions.

This tension has been brought to the forefront recently by the public dialogue between the current administration and the Vatican, debating the nuances of just war theology in light of the ongoing conflict in Iran. It reminds us that these are not just abstract theological theories, but urgent, real-world questions with life and death consequences.

Join us for an honest, nuanced, and grace-filled conversation with a panel of our pastors and church members who represent a variety of views and life experiences. Together, we will wrestle with what faith looks like in light of complex global conflicts, modern warfare, and Christian ethics.

Our goal is not to declare a single “right” theological position, but to model what it means to be the body of Christ: remaining deeply united in the essentials of our faith, while holding space for charity and difference of opinion on the non-essentials. Bring your questions for the open Q&A as we seek to listen, learn, and love one another well.

Feel free to bring your lunch!
