Finding Freedom through Forgiveness

Most of us know forgiveness matters, but when the hurt is real, it’s not always clear how to actually do it. Whether you’re struggling to forgive someone else, receive forgiveness, or even face your own pain honestly, forgiveness can feel confusing, costly, and out of reach.

This workshop offers a guided, experiential space to explore what forgiveness really is (and isn’t), why it matters, and how we begin to practice it in real life. Together, we’ll engage Scripture, reflect on our own stories, and take practical steps toward bringing our pain to the cross, pursuing repentance, and moving toward healing in our relationships. This is not a lecture, but a participatory experience designed to help you do the meaningful, personal work that leads to the freedom and restoration forgiveness makes possible.

Facilitated by Pastor Joe Marcucci and Soul Care Director, Carolyn van Oloo – both certified through the Trauma Healing Institute of the American Bible Society – this workshop draws on decades of experience helping people engage pain and pursue healing in some of the most challenging contexts around the world. While there is no pressure to share beyond your comfort level, participants are invited to engage thoughtfully and actively throughout the experience.
