Milestone 2: The Blessing

Though it is Milestone 2, this was actually the first Milestone we rolled out because it is so foundational. The Blessing, which in part summarizes material from a classic parenting book with the same title, is all about giving the gift of unconditional love and acceptance and serving as God’s conduit to express the love He has for our kids. In a culture where we typically must perform to be counted “worthy,” raising kids who know God’s love for them is a cornerstone of all of our parenting.

Part 2 of this Milestone is a seminar. See below for the accompanying resources and handouts. The heart of the seminar focuses on “Key Ways to Prepare Their Hearts” and “The Blessings to Offer Your Kids and Family.” The latter is actually given out as a laminated card to put beside your child’s bed and use every night and/or morning to offer blessings to your child that remind them of God’s Love and your love for them. Pastor Brian is happy to share more and answer any questions you may have about any of this material.
