Coming to church, worshiping, and gathering with family and friends is one of the most meaningful experiences we share as Christians. But have you ever considered that many long for this connection—yet don’t feel like they truly belong? Not because they don’t want to—they deeply do. But too often, they are left out. Not by intention, but simply because they were never truly invited in.
For many people with disabilities, fitting into a church community has always been a challenge—and this is a reality at Highrock as well. On May 3rd, our congregation has a rare and meaningful opportunity to hear the stories of those who feel like they—or their children—don’t quite fit into what we call our church family.
Their struggles are real. And this event is a chance for us to reflect on how we can extend a more welcoming hand—especially to those who experience disabilities and other barriers to belonging. This is an invitation to open our hearts, to listen, and to grow together as a church that truly reflects Christ’s love. We hope you’ll join us and share this with your friends!
Dinner will be served. Contributions towards the cost of dinner will be welcome through Venmo at the event.
Childcare will be provided.
