The first session of Theology Lab’s Deliver Us From Evil series looks at the foundational questions: What is evil? How do we identify evil and name it?

Together, theologian Willie Jennings (Yale Divinity School) and biblical scholar Janette Ok (Fuller Seminary) help us explore these questions. Janette and Willie consider how evil and sin are conveyed in the Bible — and how that informs the way they see evil and suffering in the world around us and what faithful responses might look like. A practical question for this session involves what to do when you and another person don’t see eye to eye on what is (or isn’t) evil.
