Theology Lab welcomes the well-known Christian activist and author, Shane Claiborne (co-founder of Red Letter Christians). Shane has spent years publicly advocating for the abolition of the death penalty, innovative ways of peacemaking amidst outbreaks of war and poverty, a more robust conception of what it means to be ‘pro-life’ for Christians in America, and programs that melts previously owned guns and repurposes them into tools for farming.
In other words, Shane is no stranger to controversy. Like other sessions in this series, we’ll hear not only how Shane arrived at some of his most deeply held beliefs, but also how he engages with different perspectives. How does one hold deeply held convictions with humility? What does Shane have to share about the relational challenges and opportunities that follow from wholehearted commitment to one’s beliefs?
