Christmas Concert Sign-Ups and Auditions

The Highrock Christmas Benefit Concert is Back!

We love nothing more than to help people connect to God, connect to God’s people, and connect to God’s purposes in the world- and the Christmas Concert is a way to do all three at the same time! We get to share the beautiful and compelling message of God’s great love for us shown in Jesus Christ. Highrockers plan, prepare, rehearse, and serve together in a variety of fun and meaningful ways over the holiday season. And the concert becomes a space that we can invite our neighbors into while supporting one of our partner organizations. It’s the Highrock community at our best!

Our goal is to have a choir that is between 50-70 members! If you’ve been a member of our Christmas Concert choir at any point (Online included), consider yourself “grandfathered” in! All you need to do is sign up below after reading through details and commitments, and you will be added to an email list, where we’ll send out more information.

If you’re new to the Christmas Concert at Highrock and are interested, you won’t regret joining us! We have a simple video audition process.  Please click on the “Audition” button below for instructions.

Important Information

Before you sign up or audition, below is a list of important information and commitments to keep in mind:

  • Friday, December 15: Evening

    • Call time: 5:00pm
    • Show time: 7:30pm

    Saturday, December 16: Matinee

    • Call time: 2:00 pm
    • Show time: 4:00 pm

    Saturday, December 16: Evening

    • Call time: 5:00 pm
    • Show time: 7:00 pm

    Sunday, December 17: Matinee

    Note: The Sunday matinee show is tentative and will be added or subtracted based on demand.

    • Call time: 2:00 pm
    • Show time: 4:00 pm

    Sunday, December 17: Evening

    • Call time: 5:00pm
    • Show time: 7:00pm

  • Choir members are expected to join for all 12 rehearsals. We do understand that life happens, so if necessary we can accommodate up to two absences, but otherwise, we ask for your full commitment during this season.

    Phase 1: Separate Rehearsals

    Each Sunday during this period will have rehearsals taking place at Highrock Arlington and Highrock Cambridge.  Please see below:

    Phase 1 dates:

    • Sunday, October 1
    • Sunday, October 8
    • Sunday, October 15
    • Sunday, October 22
    • Sunday, October 29
    • Sunday, November 5
    • Sunday, November 12

    Phase 1: Arlington and MetroWest

    • Meeting at Highrock Arlington
    • Lunch Provided at 12:15 pm, rehearsal 1:00-3:00 pm

    Phase 1: Cambridge

    • Meeting at Highrock Cambridge
    • Rehearsal 4:00-5:00 pm

    Phase 2: All-Highrock Combined Rehearsals

    All rehearsals during this period will take place at Highrock Arlington.

    Phase 2 dates:

    • Sunday, November 19 | 4:00-6:00 pm
    • Sunday, November 26 | 4:00-6:00 pm
    • Sunday, December 3 | 4:00-6:00 pm
    • Sunday, December 10 | 4:00-6:00 pm
    • Thursday, December 14 | 7:00 pm (final dress rehearsal)

    Please Note:  We value the participation of the Cambridge congregation and don’t want to disrupt their Sunday afternoon worship service. However, if there is not a critical mass of Cambridge choir members, we will revert to a 1-3pm rehearsal time for Phase 2 Sunday Rehearsals, which as listed above are: 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10.

    If you’ve already auditioned and participated in the choir in past years, you can skip the audition upload and sign up here.

    Audition Uploading Instructions

    We want to make the audition process as easy as possible! Simply record a one-minute video of yourself singing along to one of your favorite worship songs playing in the background. Please feel free to choose any moment in the song that highlights your range or singing ability. If you are unsure of which song to sing, here are a few suggestions:

    When you are done recording, please upload your video to the link at the bottom of this page.  

    The link will prompt you to submit your name and email address. Please utilize an email address that you would like to use to receive updates regarding the Christmas Concert. One extra helpful step would be if it’s the same email address that is used for your MyRock account.  

    Please Note:  The ability to read sheet music is helpful, but not required.

    Deadline (UPDATED)

    Auditions and returner sign-ups are due on Wednesday – September 27th at 10am. Final casting decisions will be made that same day at 5pm.
