Dave Swaim
Senior Pastor
dave@highrock.org

Raised just a few miles from Highrock, Dave is a local. Though he lived two years in London and nine in Virginia, when he returned to Boston for graduate school, he was home to stay. Dave and his wife, Michelle, have six children adopted from all over the world. Dave served several wonderful churches before coming to Highrock ten years ago, but hopes to stay here forever.

Eugene Kim
Executive Pastor
eugene@highrock.org

Highrock’s executive pastor and worship leader, Pastor Eugene has served on staff since the fall of 2002.  A native of New York, and a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, he spends his time outside of church with his other important ministry: his wife Alice and their three kids, Owen, Evan and Emelie.  In 2005, Eugene released an album of original music he wrote for worship at Highrock called "Songs at 3."  He describes himself as Dave’s opposite, which makes the two of them a good team – though the two share a love for Diet Coke.

"Songs at 3" is available on iTunes.  Listen at MySpace.

Aaron Engler
Young Adult Pastor
aaron@highrock.org

Born and raised in east central, Minnesota, Aaron was a finance major at the University of Minnesota and then a banker, prior to moving east to study for ministry at Gordon-Conwell, which he graduated from in 2008.  On staff since 2006, Aaron is the Young Adult Pastor and "operations guy," serving the post-college twenty and thirty-somethings who call Highrock home, as well as making sure the lights come on!  He's devoted to his wife Ariel, and passionate about God's Word, seeing sold out followers of Jesus, and, of course, University of MN College Hockey!

Ryan Yi
College Pastor
ryan@highrock.org

A native son of Ohio, Ryan serves Highrock as the college pastor and leader of the welcoming and integration ministry known as the Open Door Ministry. He loves to build welcoming  and inclusive communities and to make people laugh - even at his own expense. Ryan is a huge Ohio State Buckeyes Football fan and serves as a Reserve United States Air Force Chaplain. He counts as the reasons he stays in Boston: Highrock, Highrock, Indian Buffets.

Ilene Chen
Children's Ministry Director
ilene@highrock.org

Born and raised in “the O.C.”, Ilene is a California girl at heart who can’t seem to get away from the east coast. After completing her masters of education at Harvard, she stuck around Boston to serve the littlest (and cutest!) members of Highrock. Also Highrock’s resident webmaster, she likes reading “chick lit” novels, bargain shopping, cheering on Duke basketball and doing anything artsy-crafty.

Michelle Sanchez
Co-Director of Christian Formation and Pastoral Project Manager
michelle@highrock.org

Michelle recently completed her M.Div and Th.M. from Gordon-Conwell. Prior to seminary, she worked as an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs, and Co., and also helped to launch a ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ in New York. She is a published poet. Her other interests include faith-based entrepreneurship, women in leadership, theology and the arts, and Christian spirituality. She and her husband, Mickey, coordinate Highrock's educational ministries. They have more books than they know what to do with. They dream of church planting in the future and finding more space for their books.

Mickey Sanchez
Co-Director of Christian Formation
mickey@highrock.org

A native New Yorker, Mickey has lived or studied in every borough of NYC except Staten Island. After working for NYC Council Member John Liu, he earned the M.Div. & Th.M. degrees at Gordon-Conwell. Mickey enjoys philosophy, interreligious dialogue, hermeneutics, spirituality and superhero-related subject matter. He met his wife, Michelle, while at NYU and there they dedicated their relationship to expanding God’s kingdom. When they are not fighting Satan, they love thinking about how to fight Satan and watching movies together.

Andy Ober
Director of M.A.D. (Make a Difference) Ministry
andy@highrock.org

A proud Rhode Islander, Andy has spent his entire life in New England. After finishing college in Connecticut, he moved to Boston to study at Harvard Divinity School, where he met his lovely wife Lisa and felt God’s calling to ministry. Andy is especially enthusiastic about teaching God’s Word, engaging the college campus with God’s truth, and cheering on the Boston Red Sox. In addition to his role on Highrock Staff, Andy also serves as a campus staff worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Tufts. He and Lisa hope to be able to continue to minister together in the Northeast.
